Times Union, 7/8-7/10: House Concert - Boston touring artist (Albany, NY) I am a solo, acoustic, contemporary-folk, singer/songwriter from Boston, MA who is touring across the USA in promotion on my new CD which will be released in June, 2013. I like playing bars, cafes and coffeehouses, but with this tour I would really like to play private house concerts. It's more intimate, friendly, fun and you get to meet some really nice people. I require a fee, but that's simple enough to come up with. Generally people ask for a $5-$10 donation at the door that goes to the artist. A PA system is not required. I will not be traveling with one, unless I book the tour and it demands it. It's a fun night. You invite all your friends and neighbors. You can have a nice dinner party, wine and snacks, or beer and shots. Socialize and then sit in the living room for an hour or two of acoustic music that will make you laugh and cry. Then people find it kind of special to talk and socialize with the artist afterwards. Sometimes, the host will let the artist "crash" on their couch or floor for the evening, which I find very helpful on a tour where you're trying to cut costs wherever you can.
